rules.
rules.

1. Character limit.

There isn't one. But please, don't get greedy. You know how many characters you can handle, so please exercise a little self-control when applying for characters. Picking up characters willy-nilly and dropping them after five minutes because you're actually not that interested gets frustrating for everyone. It's more interesting for everyone if you have a purpose for picking up the character - there's plot to go with, a particular character relationship or interaction you want to play out... basically, you have a story to tell with the character.

2. Character activity.

We're not going to be too strict on this. We all have lives and jobs and college, and that of course takes precedence. However, we do reserve the right to require you to do something with your character, and if we notice two or three months has gone past without any activity on your part, we'll be in contact with you in regards to you dropping the character. As a rule of thumb, try to do something at least once a month.

3. IC vs OOC.

Please. We all know what happens when people take OOC IC, or let OOC matters affect the game. Let's leave the IC drama IC, and deal with the OOC drama like mature adults. There is also a lot of knowledge that you as a player will have that your character would not and should not know. Please keep them from using it. If you're not sure, ask the player involved or the mods. Please also don't assume that your character knows everything you do about comics - have they read them? Have they done the same research you have?

4. God modding.

At no point in the game are you permitted to decide the actions or reactions of someone else's character, or are you allowed to inflict any sort of harm on another character without the permission of ther player. The only time we will consider relaxing this rule is if you choose to drop a character and we are required to write the character out. In this situation the mods will discuss with you or the players of the characters involved with the dropped character what would be the best way to move the character out of the game.

5. Complaints and questions.

If you have a complaint or a question about either a player, a plot or one of the mods, please bring it to the mod list. We'd rather take care of a little drama than have it blow up later on. We can't emphasize enough how open we are to questions and comments.

6. Plot.

a) We're pretty cool with you taking the reins when it comes to what you do with your character. They're yours to play with. But out of respect for the rest of the game, we'd like to get a head's up if you're going to do something big or that is likely to trigger someting for another player - major violence/injury, rape, death, murder, etc. We'd also like to know if it's something big enough to affect other people in the game so we can sort things out.

b) If you have something in mind for more than just you, come and talk to us about it! We'd love to have the players quite heavily involved in whatever plot happens in the game - we're not here to dictate what happens in the game, we're here to facilitate things so everyone can play and have fun! We also like to make sure it's not going to conflict with anything else we or someone else has planned.

7. Contacting the mods.

The mod list email address is xovermods@googlegroups.com. All of the mods check this email on a regular basis, and we'll try to get back to you within 24 hours in regards to any questions you have!
